Short AF Book Review | Bound In Terror: A Stormy Nightmare

Hi friends! So today I'm going to be doing a review on "Bound In Terror: A Stormy Nightmare" by Melanie Sue. This review is going to be short and sweet (like the title suggests) and spoiler free (however there will be the Goodreads synopsis in this and sometimes it can contain spoilers to please keep that in mind!)

"The detectives on Manasota Key receive a gruesome clue about a missing woman. Struggling mentally with what they saw, they are determined to find her before it's too late.

As they race against an incoming 100 - year - storm, their frustration builds. To their dismay, another woman goes missing. What happens next may shock you!"

So the reason I wanted to read this is because I actually got this as part of a stuff you e-reader day, and I caught up with ARCs so I thought I'd go through what's been waiting on my digital TBR on my kindle. Friends, I'm not gonna lie, I was very 50/50 with this one. First of all, this is a very short story, at only 100 pages I thought this was going to be such a quick, easy read. I was very wrong. I don't know if it's because I was very aware that the book was so short, or that it just started off slow but I felt like this book was just slogging on. I pushed through, however, because of how short this book was. I am glad that I pressed on because the idea behind this book was actually very interesting to read and actually left me wanting more. Which brings me to my second issue, I never actually got the more I was looking for. I actually wish that this book had been longer just so all of my unanswered questions could be answered. I don't know how a book could feel slow at the start but rushed at the end but it just did. I genuinely finished the book feeling dissapointed and unsatisfied. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be picking up a Melanie Sue book again. Do I think that should stop you from reading this book? Absolutely not. This is going to be someone's cup of tea for sure! Just not mine!

I gave this book a 3/5 star rating on Goodreads.

What did you think of this book? Who were your favourite or least favourite characters? Do you have any books you'd recommend for me to read and do a review on? Please let me know down in the comments below!

Have a wonderful day!

Love, Doe!
